Bucataria filipineza in Dubai- Poftiti la lupta

OI met Anca a few years ago due to our Romanian National Day Celebrations. She was the one who supplied the sweet bites for our special day.

However, a few years back ( in 2013), Anca Ellenbeck and her husband Jurgen decided to open a philipino themed restaurant in Dubai. Bacolod Chicken& BBQ House is their creation and you can find it in the bustling area of Karama. It is somehow a family type of restaurant that will not intimidate you through its high end, hard to pronounce meniu, unfriendly staff or atmosphere. On the contrary, it is “The place where everybody loves the food”.
It is warm, with friendly staff and a menu that can fit every budget. Its signature dish, that I do recommend you try is Boodle Fight.
Unlike its name, is a “quiet” but diverse mix of dishes but you never know when a fight might start beyween you and your friends over its components. It’s that yummy.
The tables are covered with cling film and banana leaves are set from one end to the other. These will be topped with several types of rice, grilled vegetables, grilled chicken, fish, seafood and noodles. Everything is guarded closely by big jugs of water and….the fight can begin.
But don’t limit your culinary experience only to this dish. Try their grilled chicken (Chicken Paa) or their Chicken Sisig as well and don’t miss the papaya pickle.
The chicken dishes have a particular way of marinating the meat (called Inasal) by using a mixture of natural coconut vinegar, lemongrass, kalamamsi and a wide array of secret condiments.
The prices fit every budget and the hosts are always warm and welcoming.
Anca and her husband decided to open the restaurant after 10 years of experience on cruise ships and a couple more in Dubai. Because they have a large group of philipino friends they decided to bring the Bacolod Chk N BBQ House Master Franchise to the UAE.
There is no need for you to travel to the Philipines to try on their cuisine. Just have a drive down to Karama and there you can have an authentic philipino dish for lunch or dinner.
